Business support: documents, brand protection and office space
Business support covers the work that sits around a trade licence. Documents issued abroad must be attested, and often translated, before UAE authorities accept them. A brand needs a registered trademark to be protected, some tenders ask for ISO certification, and every licence needs an address. Caliph handles these tasks alongside your company setup.
Overview
A licence application rarely travels alone. The authority may ask for a parent company's documents attested in their home country, a power of attorney in Arabic, or a tenancy contract for the office. Each of these is handled by a different body, with its own forms and its own order of steps, and a mistake in one can hold up everything behind it.
This section groups those tasks into three kinds. The first is paperwork: making foreign and UAE documents legally usable, and putting them into Arabic when an authority requires it. The second is standing: protecting the name you trade under and showing customers that your management systems have been independently audited. The third is premises: choosing an address that suits your licence, your visa plans and your budget together.
Caliph's consultants do this work every day for the companies we set up, and for businesses that are already running. You deal with one person who knows your file, so a document attested for your licence is ready to be used again for a visa or a bank application later.

What this section covers
Documents that authorities accept
A certificate issued abroad usually needs a chain of attestations before it can be used in the UAE, and UAE documents need their own chain before they are used abroad. We tell you which stamps your document needs and in what order.
Arabic where the law asks for it
Courts, notaries and several ministries work in Arabic. When a translation is required, it has to come from a translator registered with the Ministry of Justice, so we arrange it before the filing date.
A brand that belongs to you
The trade name on your licence identifies the company. It does not stop someone else registering a similar mark. Trademark registration with the Ministry of Economy and Tourism is what gives you that protection in the UAE.
Proof of how you work
ISO management system certificates are issued by independent certification bodies after an audit. We help you prepare the system and arrange the audit with a suitable body.
An address that fits the licence
Office type affects which licences you can hold and how many visas the company can apply for. We compare virtual, shared and private options against your activity before you sign anything.
How we handle support work
Tell us what it is for
The same document can need different treatment for a licence, a visa or a court. Your consultant starts from the purpose.
We check what the authority asks
We confirm the current requirement with the body that will receive the document or the application.
You hand over originals or details
We list exactly what to send, and ask for nothing more.
We file, follow up and report
Caliph submits the request, answers queries from the authority and keeps you informed.
The result goes into your company file
Attested documents, certificates and contracts are stored with your licence records so they can be reused and renewed on time.
Questions people ask
Do I need these services to open a company in the UAE?
Not all of them. Every company needs an address that its licensing authority accepts, and Dubai mainland companies need Ejari. Attestation and legal translation come up when shareholders or documents are from abroad. Trademark and ISO are choices you make to protect and grow the business. Your Caliph consultant confirms which ones your setup needs.
Which documents usually need attestation for a business?
Common examples are a parent company's incorporation documents and board resolutions when it opens a branch or becomes a shareholder, powers of attorney signed abroad, and degree certificates for certain job titles. Family visas often involve marriage and birth certificates. The receiving authority decides, so we check before you start.
Is a trade name the same as a trademark?
No. A trade name is reserved with the licensing authority and appears on your licence. A trademark is registered with the Ministry of Economy and Tourism for specific goods or services, and it gives you a legal basis to stop others using a confusingly similar mark in the UAE.
Can I run a company from a virtual or shared office?
Often yes, but it depends on the activity and on the authority that issues the licence. Many free zones offer desk and address packages, while mainland licences normally rest on a registered tenancy contract. The choice also affects visa allocation, so settle it before the licence application.
Can Caliph help if my company was set up by someone else?
Yes. You do not need to have formed the company with us. Bring your licence and the document or task you need help with, and a consultant will tell you what is required and handle it for you.
